Ahmed Gadalla - Libyan Businessman
Ahmed Gadalla is a leading Libyan businessman, owning and operating a range of successful businesses in the country and internationally. His career has been shaped by building businesses and investing in industries that have the potential to reshape global perceptions of the nation of Libya.
Gadalla is a figure who has focused on action and building his businesses to be as strong and successful as they can be. He has spent much of his career developing businesses out of the public limelight, focusing on projects that take years to plan and even longer to complete.
Rather than chasing quick results, he has built his career around the idea that businesses which grow over time are the ones that endure.
Gadalla studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Benghazi and continued his education through postgraduate programs in business and management. However, as is often the case in the business world, his most valuable lessons came through experience, working in different industries, with different partners and different
teams over many years.
His business journey began in Benghazi, when he was still a young entrepreneur. He started an automotive parts trade business which began as a small local business. Eventually, this expanded into distribution, logistics and eventually larger industrial investments, the kind Gadalla specialises in today.
In 2008 Alushibe Holding Group was founded. Since then, the company has grown into a diversified business operating across consumer goods, industry, infrastructure, healthcare, retail and services.
As with so many Libyan businesses, conflict in the early 2010s presented serious challenges, particularly around Benghazi. As with many other enterprises, the Alushibe Holding Group had to deal with issues such as damage to its warehouse facilities and disruption to its operations. However, the company was able to survive and its infrastructure was rebuilt. For Gadalla, once again, it showed the importance of resilience and staying committed to long-term goals.
Alongside the growth of Alushibe, Gadalla has also become involved in several of Libya's largest industrial projects. He is currently the Chairman of the SULB–Tosyali partnership, which is developing a major Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) complex in Benghazi.
As Gadalla's businesses grew, he started to bring more public attention surrounding his work. In 2026 that attention became more intense after The Sentry published allegations about his business activities in Libya. Gadalla rejected the claims, describing them as false and based on inaccurate information.
He has said that both he and his companies have always worked within the law and announced that he will pursue legal action, arguing that the publication caused significant damage to his personal reputation and his businesses.
Today, Ahmed Gadalla continues to lead Alushibe Holding Group while remaining closely involved in several of its long-term projects.
